The Toronto Maple Leafs are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto, Canada. The Club is owned by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, Ltd. The Club was founded in 1917 under the name the Toronto Arenas before become the Toronto St. Patricks in 1919 and finally becoming the Maple Leafs in 1927

The Toronto Maple Leafs were the team that won the inaugural championship of the NHL. they won a total of 13 titles before going on an ongoing 50-year drought. the Toronto Maple Leafs were also the first club to retire a number in professional sports that being number 4 worn by legendary Maple Leafs player Hap Day.
