Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays are Canadian professional baseball team based in Toronto. Blue Jays compete in Major League Baseball as member of the American League East division. With their home games being played at the Rogers Centre. Blue Jays officially joined the MLB in 1977 they were the second MLB franchise based outside United States and now are the only team currently based outside the US due to the Montreal Expos becoming the Washington Nationals in 2005. As with most expansion teams the Blue Jays went through the typical struggles frequently finishing last in their division. It was in 1983 when they had their first winning season and two years later became divisional champs from 1985 to 1993.

They became AL East powerhouse winning five division championships including three from between the years 1991 to 1993 during those same years they became back-to-back World Series champions in 1992 and 1993. After the 1993 World Series they went on a 21 year consecutive playoff drought which ended in 2015. In 2015 they played the Texas Rangers this series has the event that is often described as the unforgettable inning in which the Texas Rangers collapsed, Jose Bautista scored a home run and then did his iconic bat flip. The next year they faced the Texas Rangers again sweeping them but losing in the AL championship series.
